Logging into the SCHOOLOGY MOBILE APP

It is strongly recommended that you create your account or link any preexisting Schoology accounts you may have on a web browser from a computer before trying to log into your mobile app. For more information regarding the Schoology mobile app click on the link associated with your phone below:

Are you seeing the following error message above when creating your PCHS Schoology account?

Schoology will not allow you to use the same email address when creating an account in a different district. For instructions on how you can solve this issue CLICK HERE.

PAUL REVERE PARENTS: To deactivate your Paul Revere LAUSD Schoology account so that you can use the same email address please fill out the following online form by clicking the link below:

INFINITE CAMPUS

You will need an "Activation Key" in order to create your account which is provided to each parent via email. For access issues please email dmoo@palihigh.org or parenttech@palihigh.org. Infinite Campus provides parents information on attendance and online payments that is not found in Schoology. Overall student grades are uploaded into Infinite Campus nightly but individual assignment data can only be accessed through Schoology at this time. For written instruction on how to get started please CLICK HERE or check out the video to the left.

SCHOOLOGY

MOST IMPORTANT ACCOUNT FOR PARENTS TO STAY INFORMED. To set up your account you will need your student's Schoology "Access Code" which was provided to each parent via email but can also be found in your parent Infinite Campus account. Instructions on how to find this access code and set up your account are outlined in the video seen here to the left. For written instructions please CLICK HERE. If you already have a Schoology parent account from Paul Revere or any school at all please refer to the section below for instructions on what to do.

Linking your LAUSD & PCHS Schoology Accounts

Parents who have children enrolled in both LAUSD and PCHS may want to "link" the two accounts so they can toggle back and forth. If you no longer have a need to access your LAUSD account because you no loner have any students that will be attending a LAUSD school then you will not need to do this. For more information about linking parent accounts across different organizations CLICK HERE.

WHAT DO I DO IF MY CHILD IS HAVING TROUBLE ACCESSING THEIR PCHS ACCOUNTS?

Each child is provided with a one username and default password as their Single Sign On account that will give them access to all PCHS accounts including the WiFi, Schoology, Google, Infinite Campus and more. More information on this account is provided on the Account Info (Students) page within this website.

HOW DO I CHECK OUT A CHROMEBOOK FOR MY CHILD?

Students must have their parents fill out and sign the Release of Technology Equipment and Acceptance of Financial Responsibility Form to turn in at the time of device checkout. For the 2019-2020 school year, we will begin checking out devices on the first day of school on a first come, first serve basis.

New for the 2019- 2020 school year, PCHS has partnered with Worth Ave. Group to offer reduced device insurance rates for the 19-20 term. An open enrollment period will be held the first three weeks of school to allow families who borrow a device to purchase a comprehensive device insurance policy which covers accidental damage, loss, and theft of a device. After the open enrollment period closes, device insurance can still be purchased through Worth Ave. Group, but at an increased rate.

WHAT TYPE OF DEVICE SHOULD I PURCHASE FOR MY CHILD?

Although we support many types of devices on our network we have put together a BYOD RECOMMENDATION FLYER that provides parents with a list of "features" that we feel are important to have in a student device. Data suggests that PCHS parents and students overwhelmingly choose to bring Macbooks to school as their student device. Macbooks are great but would not be our top pick for a student in a K-12 environment. Although powerful machines Macbooks are more expensive, not built to withstand the type beating that teenagers tend to inflict on their devices and do not offer any models with touchscreen capabilities. If you would like more information you may contact us at parenttech@palihigh.org.

WHAT IS THE "RESPONDUS LOCKDOWN BROWSER" AND WHY DOES MY CHILD NEED TO INSTALL IT ON THEIR COMPUTER?

LockDown Browser is a custom browser that locks down the testing environment within a learning management system (Schoology). Used at over 1000 higher ed and K-12 institutions, LockDown Browser is the top choice of educators for securing online exams in classrooms or proctored environments. It the responsibility of all school districts to provide a safe and secure network when providing students and staff access to the internet. In order for PCHS teachers to administer secure online assessments, students will need to access them using this browser. For more information on the Respondus Lockdown browser click HERE.

Unfortunately having a BYOD (Bring Your Own Device) program at PCHS makes it very challenging for the district to provide a secure and safe environment for our teachers and students. If students choose not to install the browser on their personal device then they will need to check out a loaner device from the school in order to take any secure online exam administered by their instructor.

Having to plan and execute the installation of applications on hundreds of student devices is the last thing PCHS ever wants to do. This is why 40% of all K-12 schools have already adopted 1-to-1 programs with another 40+% planning to do so within the next 3 years. Being 1-to-1 would eliminate the need for PCHS to ever ask students to install anything on their device. Due to budgetary limitations PCHS, like many districts, has had to adopt a BYOD program until they are able to go 1-to-1.
