Respondus LockDown Browser

Installing LockDown Browser

  • LockDown Browser is a custom browser that's installed to computers or devices to prevent students from cheating during online quizzes.

  • The download link will also appear when a LockDown Browser-enabled quiz is available on Schoology.

  • The LockDown Browser app for iPad is available for free from the App Store, but an instructor setting for iPads must be enabled for each quiz.

  • Personal Chromebook devices are not supported; LockDown Browser is only available for managed Chromebooks and so if students have a personal Chromebook as their BYOD device they will have to take it to the PCHS Tech Office to have the browser.

  • PCHS does NOT use the Respondus Monitor system which would require the use of a webcam.
